Swim Team and Swim Lessons

Swim Team
The Zena Sundevils are anticipating another exciting swim season! We hope to see our team grow even larger this year and we invite parents who think their children might be ready to join the team, to sign their children up. If your child is 5 years old or older, and is able to swim across the pool unassisted, they may be ready to be a part of the team!  Tell your friends about the team too, the Sundevils allow non-Rec members to apply to be part of the team.

Zena Sundevils Swim Team

You do not have to be a member of Zena Rec to be a member of the swim team!
Being a part of the Sundevil swim team is a wonderful opportunity for your child to meet and make friends with children on the team while learning to perfect their swimming strokes. Many of the friendships built between children while they are on the team can last a lifetime. The summer league swimming has introduced countless children to swimming and has helped to develop a lifelong love for the sport. Please think about becoming a Sundevil swimmer!

Swimmers 18 and younger are welcome to join our Zena Sundevils Swim Team. Swimmers do not need to be park members to participate. The team is one of eight teams in the local DUSO League (Dutchess and Ulster Swim Organization www.duso.org). The swim team season is approx. 6 weeks long and culminates with a championship meet.

Practice is held every weekday morning once the local schools are closed for the summer. There are usually 2 sessions: older swimmers (typically 13+) practice from 7:30 to 9:00 am followed by the younger groups (typically 12 years and younger) from 9:00 to 10:00 am.

The Zena Sundevils provide a nurturing environment where young people develop friendships and pursue excellence in an activity that encourages fitness, fun, and team building. Swimmers are of all levels, and beginners are welcome. We have youngsters that can barely swim the length of the pool  who still enjoy the camaraderie and spirit of this team sport  as much as year-round swimmers. The season includes several exciting events centered around family, food, and team spirit. Coaches include “fun days” into the swim season with pool games, a pasta pep rally, a bonfire, an award night, and much more...

Parent involvement is greatly appreciated!
