Dara is a USPTR certified tennis instructor and USTA 4.0 rated player. Dara also played #1 singles in High School and #2 singles in College. She has over 20 years of experience teaching all ages and all levels to enjoy the game of tennis. She loves teaching at Zena, and is available for private lessons as well!

Instruction OverviewEach day one of the following strokes will be taught.
A. Tennis shoes or sneakers must be worn. No hard-soled shoes are permitted.II. COURT USAGE – GENERAL
B. Nonparticipants are not allowed on the courts except in the areas adjacent to the gates.
C. Loud noises caused by radios, tape players, etc. are prohibited.
D. Lights should be turned off when not in use.
E. Please loosen the nets when finished playing.
F. Entry to the courts must be made by the gate closest to the court being used.
G. Please lock the gate if no one is playing.
A. At the end of Junior Tennis, the next day’s sign-in schedule for play periods will be posted on the tennis bulletin board.NO ADVANCED SIGN-UP IS ALLOWED FOR JUNIORS ON THE RESERVATION SHEET.
B. Club events such as tournaments, arranged matches and lessons take priority in the use of the courts.
C. A nonparticipant cannot reserve a court except to accommodate guests. Senior members (18 years or older) have priority during peak periods. These periods are after 4:30 P.M. on weekdays and all day Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
D. A junior (17 years or younger) may use the courts during peak periods in the following instances
1. He/she is playing with a senior member.
2. If the court is unused upon his/her arrival, he/she may use the court for that time slot.
During periods of play, open courts are taken on a first come, first served basis. Play is limited to one hour when others are waiting. A court may not be held by one person (for example, practicing or waiting for a partner). Everyone is to sign in their name and time on the board before play begins; otherwise, anyone can claim the court after 10 minutes.IV. RESERVED PLAY
A. Only senior members may reserve a tennis court.No reservations are required between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. Two 45 minute time slots may be used, but you must put your name on the sign-in sheet. Play may continue beyond this if no one is waiting.
B. Courts may be reserved for either 3/4 or 1 1/2 hour periods at preset intervals for use by two or more players.
C. Reservations remain valid for lateness up to 10 minutes. After this time the remainder of the 45 minute slot is available for use by any club member, including juniors.
D. If a junior is using an unused 45 minute slot, he/she cannot be bumped by an adult.
E. It is permissible to make reservations up to two weeks in advance of the actual playing time. However, nomore than six (6) forty-five minute reservations per any consecutive seven (7) days will be accepted; and no more than six (6) reserved periods are to be outstanding.
F. If a reservation cannot be used, you should try to cancel twenty-four hours in advance. Failure to cancel an unused court will result in a fine of $2.00 being assessed to the member in whose name the reservation had been made. No future reservations will be accepted until the fine is paid. If weather conditions result in an absence of the court attendant and/or impractical playing conditions, no fine will be assessed for the uncanceled reservation.
G. A reservation which results in more than 1 1/2 hours of consecutive play by a member is not permitted.
H. How to reserve a court: Telephone the pool during their hours. The book is kept in the office. The number is 679-9665.
I. Courts are reserved in the name of one member. Reservations for guests must include the member’s name and the name of the guest.
J. A person may be a guest at the Park only FIVE(5) times/year, not five times per member. There is a $5.00 charge for guests. If you have not paid for them at the swimming pool, please put the money in an envelope that is in the box by the first gate.
